EDUCATION

BACKGROUND :

Education is one of the most vital elements for making life useful and worth, and each person in this world is equally entitled to get proper education. This is exactly what the gap year travelers joining the teaching volunteer programs will be doing; help educate the society. Volunteering solutions provide teaching projects in several fields; such as teaching languages (English, French, etc.), teaching subjects (math, science, geography, computer, etc.), skill based education to youth, vocational education, teaching at kindergartens (anganwadi schools), girls education program, etc.

These programs are spread over different locations of the state of ODISHA, they are, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri and Nayagarh districts. Volunteers will be placed at local primary and government schools where they can choose to shadow the in-house teaching staff or conduct a class all by themselves. Most of these schools run low on infrastructure and resources, and volunteers can help fill up these voids too. They can help with supplying books and other stationary, help refurbish the school premises, help design a proper curriculum, or work with the administrative department.
